Time goes by.......

Thought I would do a little post just to let everyone know I am still around.

The Lady of the House is taking up most of my time at the moment.

She is having some bad days when she wont eat and drink then perks up and licks her bowl clean.  It is becoming a 24 hour job making sure she is okay, but it's the job I took on nearly 19 years ago, I have looked after her all this time and I have no intention of stopping now.  It does mean that I don't have as much time for me at the moment, so sewing and posting on the Blog are taking a back seat.

I have finished my red and white quilt though.

The fabric is French General Rouennieries Deux and made from the charm packs I won from FQS.

Have you been watching the Olympics... me too!! Loved every minute of it.  In my quiet moments when Lady is sleeping I have started stitching The Patchwork Village by Rosalie Quinlan

I decided to do the stitchery in pinks and greens so it's a little bit different, two down, seven to go!!

Take care

Hugs Linda xxxx

It's definitely a hard time when pets reach old age. I'll bet she appreciates all the care you are giving her. Good luck.
Your red and white quilt is a delight. Of course I like the fabrics and the design with the stars is great.
And then there are more stars with the stitcheries. They are looking gorgeous, too.
Lovely to see what you are working on!

love the stitchery and sad about your Lady, it's tough when they get older and you know every day longer is a blessing, one of our cat's is having slightly more bad days than good atm, 13 years old but still occasionally catches the souris :)

Oh Linda, Lady is just so precious. I know you feel as I do...we make a commitment to our pets when we adopt them to love them and take care of them, no matter what. You just do what you need to do...blogging can wait. We'll be here...especially when you need us!

Your Rouennieries Deux quilt turned out lovely! I love those fabrics and have some waiting for me to cup-up and sew into a quilt for my SIL. Wish I could keep it for myself! :o(

Take care and we'll chat soon!

XOXO,

Cyndi

I'm so sorry to hear about Lady, but I'm sure you're making her feel better just by being with her.

OH Linda, your quilt and stitchery project are both wonderful!!! As for taking on the job of looking after Lady, I know exactly what you mean. Our oldest furry babe is only 11 years old, but she is failing due to cancer. She isn't having any pain just now, and we make her dog food so she gets lots of nutrition in the small meals she takes...but she is losing weight every day and getting weaker...at least until 'treat' time, then she becomes very animated and bounces around like a puppy, LOL. Sleep is scarce around here right now, as I am constantly getting up to check on her and see to her needs, (cover her with a snuggie if she seems cold, take her outside if she wants to go, etc.) do find yourself doing the same thing with Lady? Your right, it is absolutely a 24 hour job and I don't mind one bit. These wonderful little creations that God shared with us, bring so much joy and love into our lives, that the care we give them now, is a complete and utter labor of love. Every day with them is a gift. Huge Hugs sweet friend, and God Bless...

Bless you for taking such loving care of dear Lady. She knows how much you love her and she appreciates all you do.

Your sewing projects are beautiful.
I'm glad you've had some time to enjoy a bit of needle and thread.
