You Have Mail.

I like my Postman, he leaves me nice presents in my post box.  This was waiting for me yesterday.  I was one of the lucky winners of  The Intrepid Thread's 300th post giveaway, Julie had three winners and we each got a fat eighth bundle of Heirloom, mine is in the Citrine colour, and I also received some patterns and a note book.   As you can see it was beautifully wrapped and I was so good and took a picture before I ripped it open!!!

Thank you Julie, you are always so generous.

Julie has some gorgeous fabric in her shop, I am in love with Delighted by The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake, my favourite is the yellow and the red, go and have a look and see which is your favourite, tell Julie I sent you.

The End

When I wrote that title, my heart skipped a beat because some of you may think I mean Lady, but she is still with us.

No, what I meant was the end of the QAL, the top is all sewn together and the borders on.  I didn't instantly fall in love with this quilt, I don't know why, maybe because I was only doing a few blocks each week.  But wow when I had the borders on and saw it on our  bed (king size) ..... I  love it!!   It's my biggest so far, I'm a little anxious about quilting it, so having a break from it for now, I'm going to do something smaller before I tackle quilting this!

Thanks Melissa for arranging the QAL and NOW it's okay for you to have your baby!!

I will finish with a picture of The Lady of The House in her favourite place.....she has always liked to be under or between something, maybe it makes her feel safe and secure.

I DID IT!!

Well I have been threatening to try hexagons for long enough and I have finally gone and done it! Last night I made my little hexies ready to sew today.     Look where I began sewing my first hexagons......

And THIS is what we were looking at!

Now that is what I call a sewing room.

Here is a picture of our house

What!  You don't believe me?  Okay maybe I should have said this is our house in my dreams, how fab would it be to live there.

The skies were busy today, lots of people off on holidays.

Oh I guess you want to see what I made.......

Woo Hoo!!

We Remember

Picture from Mailonline

They say that you remember where you were when tragedy stikes.  I was only 10 years old when President  Kennedy was assassinated but I still remember sitting in front of the TV and watching it, and realising something was wrong, very wrong.

On 9/11 I was working in the UK for an American company that provided nuts and bolts for the airline industry, someone received a telephone call to look at the TV, news soon spread through our company, everyone gathered in that tiny room to watch what was happening.  you could feel the horror in the room, the disbelief,  I thought it was a joke at first, really it was just a film, this couldn't possibly be real..... how I wish I had been right.

Ten years on and I still feel that horror and disbelief when I see those pictures again.

To my friends in the USA and to everyone around the world who were affected by that terrible day, our thoughts are still with you, we still grieve with you, we will not forget.

Still Seeing Stars!

Blocks 1 through 4 for the Happy Quilting Stars QAL

Just two more blocks to go, I am waiting for some more white to be delivered so I hope it arrives soon.

Two of the blocks are wonky because I wanted to see what they looked like, but I'm not doing the rest until I know what order I want them to go in - then I can decide which way I want them to "wonk"
