I have finally started something for Christmas, it's about time I can hear some of you saying, yeah yeah yeah I am always on the back burner me.....

So here is where I am so far....

I've used some of the blocks from Moose on the Porch Quilts  LCQA and some I found on the internet.  I am only doing the 9 blocks as I want this as a wall hanging.  I was hoping to have this finished this week but had to send for some fabric so for now it's on hold.   The fabric is 12 Days of Christmas by Kate Spain.  These blocks took me out of my comfort zone, and I have to admit I have been trying to persuade myself to do this for months.  Thanks to Staci at The Confused Quilter for encouraging me to give them a go and for helping me.

I absolutely loved doing these blocks, so much so I can't wait to do another one!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Squishy Envelope time!!

Look what I got this morning!!

I was the lucky winner of Nancy's giveaway, and lucky is the appropriate word, not only did she send me the 18 Christmas FQs but other gifts as well... I feel well and truly spoilt.  Thank you so much Nancy I don't know how you could part with that fabric I absolutely adore it.  Now all I have to do is decide what I am going to make with it in time for Christmas.

It is a very unseasonal, wet, windy and cold day here in France, the coldest I have every known for's getting to be like the UK!!!

Today, 14th July, celebrations throughout France are held in honour of Bastille Day, or La Fete Nationale (The National Celebration).  It commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison and fortress on 14 July 1789 and is considered the start of the French Revolution.  Bastille Day symbolises liberty and equality for all French citizens and inspires lots of celebrations.

Tonight in my home town of Rochechouart there will be a big firework display in front of the Chateau,  where you will find us, weather permitting.

Chateau Rochechouart

Traditionally the display is at Rochechouart Lake, but this has been drained and cleaned and is now nearing completion, hopefully next year we will be back there.

On the sewing front I don’t seem to have done much, I am in the middle of making a bird cage cover for a friend in the UK, but as she doesn’t know exactly what it looks like I can’t show you a picture ….yet.

I finished a wall hanging using Strawberry Fields and have been waiting for hubby to fix some hooks on the wall…..still waiting…… so here is a picture of it just pinned on a wall. The pattern  is Charming Stars Quilt by Stefanie Roman and is free  from Moda Bake Shop.

In the middle is a brooch that belonged to my Mum, I thought it was a lovely place to display it, instead of it just laying in a drawer.

I really like this quilting design, but I am in danger of using it all the time on everything,  as it’s fairly easy to do!!

Hubby did, however, put some hooks on our bedroom wall for “Brocante”

So I guess I can’t complain….or can I…….
