A Very Special Day

Today is a very special day at our house, someone is having a special birthday, someone is 18 years old today...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY!!!

Here she is waiting for someone to adopt her, she is the one on the right.  She was 6 months old when we got her, the woman we got her from had rescued her and her brothers and sisters before their owner drown them....I know....hard to believe anyone would do that.

Sorry its a small pic but our camera wasn't that good in those days.  We were told to keep her outside in a kennel because she was very distructive, always ripping things up and knocking her water dish over.  We soon found out that she was only doing this for attention, and, because she got alot of attention and love with us, she stopped being naughty - well not as naughty as she had been, just puppy naughty!!

"Please will someone get my ball"  Hubby had kicked the ball for her and it had stuck between the handle and the door.......he never was able to do that again!!

This was one of her favourite spots when we first moved to France.

Now it's here.....

or here......

Will someone tell me why I bother making nice soft beds when it seems Lady would prefer a pillow of potatoes!?!?!?!

These days she can't see very well and can't hear very well, though she has ALWAYS had selective hearing!  She has her good days when she still thinks she can chase after Sam and catch him and she has her bad days when she won't eat and sleeps all the time. Sam is her eyes and ears now, if he moves she follows (especially at food times!) But all in all for her age she does really well.

Happy Birthday my little Lady.

Love you loads.

Big Hugs xxxx

Oh Linda, what a sweet, fun post. Give Lady a nice Happy Birthday scratch for me...and please...give her ball back to her, LOL. I loved the photos, they were all great. 18 years, boy, she is really doing well. I know what you mean about Sam being her eyes and ears. Our Frisky, who is only 10, is stone deaf...well, she still seems to be able to hear a crust of toast drop on the carpet, LOL, but other than that, she watches Sadie Jo to know if there is anything going on she needs to know about. They add so many riches to our lives...Joy, Love, and oh so much laughter. Thanks for sharing Lady with us today. Hugs...

Well, Happy 18th birthday to lady. She is doing is so well and I know she has brought you a lot of pleasure. I also bet she is very grateful for the day you found her.
Hi Linda. I am enjoying being back on deck after a very busy month and love being able to spend some time catching up on all the blog posts I have missed. Love the penguin buttons you won. And had to laugh at Sam and his new bed. We sometimes look after SIL's Jack Russell and he likes to curl up in his bed then pull his blanket over his head and hide. Sam looks like he is full of fun.
Great to see your WIPs. The pinwheel wall hanging and the Schnibbles both look great. But the one I am really impressed with is the stitchery!! Wonderful work!!
Which Bronwyn Hayes quilt are you looking at stitching?
Hope you have been getting lots of sunshine and have had the chance to enjoy it.
