Hubby's Dad at Oradour sur Glane 2005

Oradour sur Glane was just an ordinary little village going about it’s business on that fateful day in 1944.  We always take our visitors here, and everyone of them comes away deeply moved, Oradour has been left exactly as it was on that day as a memorial to the hundreds who died ……here is a link to the story……

Thank you for this, Linda. We should always be learning more and remembering so we will never forget.

Thanks for this post Linda. My hubby is a Vietnam vet and was deeply touched yesterday when the phone started ringing and every call was a family member or friend calling to thank him for his service. First Veterans Day that has ever happened. He is a man of few words but I could read the emotion in his eyes with each call. God bless each and every one of our men and women around the world that served and still serves to provide our freedoms.

Oh my goodness...thanks for the information and the pictures....what a horrible piece of history. I can't see one human being being that cruel to another....just sooo sad.
