A Cold and Frosty Morning

Brr it was cold this morning, so what to do today, oh I know sewing.  I know I said I was going to finish my quilt, and I did do a little bit more of the binding but......there was this material that was just calling out to me

It kept saying to me "make a table runner out of me"  so how could I refuse!

Here is the (nearly) finished runner, the corners need cutting off then it needs quilting and binding (oh no, not more binding).

Not sure what to do about the backing but think I am going to use the same coral and maybe use one of the flower patterns for the binding.

Hugs Linda x

This is a lovely table runner. I cant believe you are a newbie. You must have had the quilting ability in your blood:)

I make mostly Crazy quilts, I have been trying to get my 17 year old into Crazy quilting. Long story short, we finally realized after 2 years of trying that she is a "sane' quilter.

Since she has been buying fabric and making a quilt. I seem to be drawn to it. So I am starting to learn more about quilting. I enjoyed your post.

Glad to be shown your blog. You have done a great start!!!!

I am newbie as well and have not finished even one quilt yet. But I get great inspiration from all the wonderful ladies (and occasional men!)who do such lovely work. Welcome to blogland. ;)

Excuse me, but are you SURE you're a beginner? Looking at that runner, I'd have thought you'd done a lot of quilting, it's beautiful.

I've come over from Dianne at Sideroad Stitcher to your blog to say hi. (Has anyone ever warned you that both quilting and blogging are addictive?)

Your table topper is really beautiful. I really adore the gorgeous fabrics you chose and can't wait to see the finished piece. Can you tell me what the pattern is? I often set aside a larger project I'm working on to make something for 'instant gratification'! It gives me the boost I need to get back on the larger project. Also, I do all of my bindings on the sewing machine. I can do simple embroidered stitcheries for quilt blocks, but hand sewing is really tough for me due to health issues. The machine bindings work our wonderfully!

That is a beautiful color of coral and a lovely floral print. Of course together, they make a beautiful table runner. Great job!
